Jason Aldean and Jessica Ussery divorce

Jason Aldean and Jessica Ussery divorce, It's official: Jason Aldean and his wife Jessica Ussery have split.

The country star, 36, filed for divorce from his estranged spouse on April 26, according to court documents obtained by People magazine. Aldean cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the break-up.

The documents confirm reports that the two had separated in the wake of Aldean's cheating scandal with "American Idol" alum Brittany Kerr.

"This is a really tough time for my entire family," Aldean told People. "Jessica and I have been together since we were teenagers. We've been through a lot of ups and downs over the years as we grew up together as a couple. She will always be important to me because she is the mother of my children, and I know that we will both always make our daughters our number one priority."

On April 25, the singer's rep told People that Aldean and Ussery's relationship had been rocky.
"I can confirm that Jason and his wife are having problems, but there is nothing more to share with the press at this time," Aldrean's rep said. "It's a private family matter, and we hope everyone will respect that he would like to keep it that way."

The "Don't You Wanna Stay" singer made headlines last year when he was caught kissing Kerr in a bar.
Aldean later issued a public apology for the incident, though it seems to have taken a toll on his relationship.

Aldean and Ussery were married in 2001. They have two daughters, 10-year-old Keeley and 5-year-old Kendyl.
