Jon stewart played soccer
Word on the street was that the comedian himself was once a star soccer player in college, until his injuries. It is no wonder; Stewart was so passionate about the game, especially the "injury goal" against Brazil.
Stewart played soccer in college at William and Mary on a scholarship in Virginia. His soccer career ended when he had knee injuries.
However, this did not stop the funny late night host from recreating the greatest goals he had seen in the Women World Cup as he called it, the "Injury Goal." Jon admired the winning goal from Brazil so much that he invited key players from the original game including Abby Wambach, Megan Rapinoe, Carli Lloyd, Ali Kreiger and Christie Rampone to play soccer in the back of his studio in New York City.
Stewart, with grey hair and twice the age as most of the women players wore a funny outfit including a jersey, shorts and both knee and elbow pads when he squared off against the U.S. Women's Soccer and recreated the magic goal against Brazil.
This was hilarious as Jon Stewart tried to coach Abby Wambach on how she should header the winning goal. Jon Stewart is beyond his time especially as the TV host on The Daily Show, comedian and political critic. With his fun humor and open-minded energy, there is no guess on what Jon has in store for the show next.
